Sara Raft: Agent Of Nothing, Part 7

"My plane was primed and ready to go,  all I had to do was get on and tell my pilot to fly. Thankfully once I gave him the coordinates, he knew where to go. I was terrible at geography.

It was a long flight, and I had questions, but there was no one to answer them. I was thinking: 'The U.N. meetings were some of, no, the most guarded place in the world. How did someone kidnap all of the leaders there?' I was also wondering 'why am I doing this?' but that was one I could answer. The problem was: I didn't know. Was it pride? Fear? A need to protect? A need to do something, anything?"

"I still think, you want to please your dead parents." says Dr. Ellis.

"Not this again" I say

"Don't worry, I won't push it, continue."

"I still don't know why. I was wearing black clothes, and had a semi-plan. I would go in, free the people, get out. Easy... right? We landed, and I took a cab all the way to a warehouse. It was night now, and there were two guards outside. Something told me it was the right place. I flipped open my phone, and made a call. Hopefully, it would work.

I took a deep breath, my heart started to race. "Here we go." I said. I shot the two guards, and they slumped over. Don't freak out, it was a dart gun. I walked inside, and it started.

"Sarrrrrra come out and play! I know you're there Sara, and if you don't do something, the hostages will die. And you do want that on you, do you?" How did he know I was here? How did he know who I was? My heart beat faster, and lips dried.

"No chance in hell." I whispered, but I was terrified on the inside. The kind of terrified that makes you want to lay down and cry.  Then one of the thugs looking for me, came over to my hiding place. I shot him, and he fell to the ground. Good thing dart guns aren't lethal. Though the asleep body was bound to attract attention. I had to move.

was able to move and not be seen. I was behind new cover now, one step closer to the hostages. Then I was it from behind! Pain ebbed through my head, I said "Aw hell..." then... nothing.

I woke up to a splash of cold water. I couldn't move, and it wasn't because I was chained to the chair. I was scared, petrified really.

'Well, well, Sara Raft, what am I to do with you?' the voice was cold, and coming from the shadows. Actually, I couldn't see a thing.

'Wh-who are you?' My heart beat faster, and my breathing got heavier. This had happened before.

'You don't know? Tssk. Next time you should watch the news report. Though I'm not about to tell you now." My scars were on fire, they hurt. My breathing got heavier.'

'Where are the leaders and how did you...'

'Take them? You don't have to be so brave Sara. It was simple really: they flew here.'

'In a plane?'

'No, I carried them... with my mind.' he was... a super?

'Yes dear, I am what you call: a super, and no you're not going to die.' he had said... what I was thinking. I was shaking with fear.

'And why not?' I asked. I was really trying to be brave.

'Lets see, take the smartest, richest person in the world, and hold her as one of my many hostages? I'd have to be crazy to say no to that.'

'Where... are... the leaders?' it was easier to be brave now.

'They are somewhere, in this building.'

'It's not that big of a place.'

'I'm not telling you!' a light was turned on, and light shone across my face. It was so bright I still couldn't see him.

'Where am I then?'

'In our new interrogation room.' I looked around me, I was in a corner, with curtains around us. He sighed 'No one likes curtains anymore.' that was what I was thinking.

'Why are you doing this? Power isn't a good answer.' He got angry, really angry, and I got scared.

'Power?! Power is the exact opposite of what I want! All I want is to show men with power that they can still bleed. I want to show that we don't have tolive under their feet! And the worst part? They always, always, want more.'

'I don't agree with the system anymore than you do, but you can't just kill people!'

'You wouldn't understand. You were born with a silver spoon in your mouth.'

'You're wrong! I wasn't born with a spoon. I had to earn it, and then give the spoon to myself.'

'But don't you know how to kill, Sara? You must agree, somewhere deep inside you. Wouldn't you kill Hitler, if you had the chance?'

'I learned to kill, so I could defend.'

'Defend who?'

'Anyone?'

'Ha! How noble, but nobility just brings the fall quicker.'

'Guess I'll just make the most of my time.' Then we paused, we were silent. There were gunshots outside.

'You... you...'

'Called the Canadian army. Yes I did.'

'How...'

'Helps when I sold some tech to them way back, and I tell them where their leader is.'

'You...'

'Checkmate.' Then he started to rise. He rose straight into the air, and through the ceiling. Some loyalty. A soldier came in through the curtains.

'Sara Raft, I mean, Miss Raft.'

'Do you think you could untie me?'

'Oh yeah. We secured the leaders.'

'Good.'

'Do you need a ride back to the States?'

'No, I'm going to stay and look around.'

'Suit yourself.' then he left. I started to wander the warehouse. I wandered until I found a office. Then I went in. Inside the place was covered with paper. Notes actually. I picked one up and read it. My eyes grew wide.

'He wouldn't' I said. Then I took out my lighter and lit the place up. I left Canada as quickly as possible after that. I needed to get back home. Because I couldn't let this mad man do this. He had a plan, and I had one to counter it."

"What was his plan?" asks Dr. Ellis.

"I can't tell you."

"Come on."

"No." then I walk away.

"Wait..." he says "Could you come back next week? I need to tell you something."

"Fine." the I walk out.
