"So what happened?"
"Excuse me?"
"Two weeks ago, we left you right after you finished your training. What happened when you returned home?" I'm Dr. Ellis's office again. I decide to open up without hesitation, I was going to get right to it.
"I'll start when I got home. When I walked through the door... no one was there, and I couldn't blame Jill. Not after how I treated her. Though... her gift was still there. She had left it. It was just too... too much. I was almost to tears, but I didn't cry, I couldn't.
All I could do was flop on the couch and watch TV. Star-Trek, ironically, but halfway my TV went out. There was nothing but static, it was weird. 'Huh...' I thought '... looks like someone is... hacking... into the feed.'
That's what was happening. Slowly the static, turned into a man. There was light, but you couldn't see his face. It was hard to explain. There was silence, then he spoke.
'People of the world...'
I remember thinking 'This is broadcasting to the world?'
'... we have taken your leaders, from a United Nations meeting. If you do not meet our demands, they will be killed one by one, and we'll televise it. That is all. Let freedom ring!'
I sat there, dazed for awhile. Then I ran to my room, and grabbed one of my inventions. Simply put, it unscrambled air waves, whether they be television or radio."
"Did you sell it?" asks Dr. Ellis.
"Yes."
"To the military?" I didn't say anything. "Come on, I won't judge."
"... Yes."
"Alright, continue."
" I might have sold it, but I needed it now. I walked straight out of my house, and drove right to the TV station. This had happened before. The hostage taking. It had happened to me, and I'll be damned if I didn't do anything about it. The scars on my arms were hurting, but I ignored it. I was doing something.
I walked right into the station without saying a thing to someone.
'Miss, this is private property.' it was one of the employees.
'I need to see your broadcaster.'
'What? Why?'
'Because I can do something, I can find out where the world leaders are.'
'... You sure?'
'Positive.'
'Come this way.' I followed her right to the room. I didn't say anymore to her, and she didn't say anymore to me. I plugged the device in, and clicked a few keys. I not going into details, on how it worked."
"Are you sure?" asks Dr Ellis. "I wouldn't mind being able to copy it." I ignore him and move on. His job is to listen, not ask.
"Eventually, I marked their location in... France. Then I walked out.
'What are you going to do?' asked the employee.
'Now? Now I'm going to save them.'
