2 Years later
After that happy little incident, everything turned normal-ish. My thought that everyone would stay away from me came true. I guess everyone thought I'd beat them up too. Even the workers stayed away. On the plus side I got the bed every night and didn't give Duncan a mattress. I showed him!
Yeah, everything was fine I even got a job at McDonalds, trust me you don't want to know what goes into those chicken nuggets. The orphanage got my minimum wage, I didn't care though, because between you and me... I never worked to hard anyway. Then, like everything else in my life... it turned to crap.
One day Detective Terrior came to the orphanage. Still in his trench coat, this time in June. He immediately walked to the receptionist, who pointed to where I was sitting in the lobby reading. He started to walk to me, whipped out a walkie-talkie, and said something into it. This was not going to end well. When he got to me, I pretended to not notice him until, he said "Hello August, I need to talk to you."
"Do I know you?" he opened his mouth to continue his bad cop routine. I continued " Oh yeah you're the play bad cop, who decided to lay the truth on me SECONDS AFTER COMING OUT OF COMA!!!" I was standing now, inches from his face, and oh yeah, everyone was staring. I hear some of the customers wanting to adopt say
"I'm not adopting that kid." the detective just rolled his eyes
"Whatever kid, I'm just here to say to say we found evidence saying you set fire to your old house."
"What kind of evidence?"
"That's confidential, and to let you know the truth, I take great pride in saying this next part, August Summers you are under arrest."
"Ha!! Looks like Summers is going to the slammer. Hope you like prison food!!!" I glared at Duncan from where I was. He automatically shrank into a corner. I was seething with rage. No one was going to do this to me. I looked straight into Terrior's eyes, they flashed red. This...wasn't...going...to...happen. I punched him, so hard he flew backward across the room, but by the time he got up I was already out the door.
