Two weeks after "NOW"
I woke up in cold sterile hospital room. It was a brightly painted place which suggested happiness, where there was none. Of course I figured this out after the grogginess. There was a smiling nurse next to my bed. Her smiling again suggested happiness. "Wh- where is my Mom and D- Dad" I managed to croak out.
The nurse looked around, as if she was looking for someone else to answer my question. This went on for a while, I noticed she wasn't smiling anymore. Then finally she says "You- your parents didn't make it out of the fire, and nobody could fine your sister." she says almost to quickly. Almost.
"Wh-what fire? You- you're lying! You have to be lying!" then everything went dark.
When I woke up there was a different nurse. She was asleep, but when I croaked out "H-hello..." she immediately sprang up, like someone had screamed fire. I continued, slowly regaining my voice "where's my mom?" she muttered something under her breath, but I didn't need her to answer, I had remembered what happened by now. I changed subject, trying to keep my mind off. it "What happened to the nurse that was there first?
"She was fired."
"For?"
"For telling what happened so early. Nobody was supposed to tell you until you were awake for a few days." She was doing a wonderful job of keeping my mind off it.
"How long was I out."
"For five days."
"Five days!"
"Yes, but while you were asleep. A detective came to talk to you. You can come in now, Mr. Terrior.
"I really don't want to talk about parents right now." I said, already knowing what the detective wanted to talk about. "Buck up kid." he said walking into the room, smoking a cigar, and for some reason wearing a trench coat in July. His presence did not suggest happiness. "My parents died when I was two." he said that to make it sound like he had it worse. Though it didn't. "Now talk to me, did you feel any anger toward your parents." I couldn't believe what he was suggesting, and the nurse didn't look impressed either. I decided to let him have it, though I was going to regret it later. "No I didn't, but I feel some anger toward you, you @#$%*.
"Excuse me?"
"Boo-hoo my parents croaked when I was two! So even though I didn't know them, I'm going to play bad cop, and make others miserable. I don't give a @#$% Dirty Harry. I lived with my parents and sister for sixteen years, and I'm not going to let ruin their memory by accusing me of killing them!" the nurse was gone, she had probably left.
"Whatever kid, all I know is that we have is evidence that says that someone set fire to the building. You're a suspect for doing that." I was steaming mad now, but also confused why would someone set our house on fire?
It didn't matter I was really ticked with this detective. "Get out of my room,(dirty name goes here)." He turns and looks at me. I might have pushed to far.
"You know what kid? I'm mad now. I may not show it, but I'm mad, you think your life is hell now. Wait until I'm through with it." And on that happy note, he walks out of the room.
