The seven chairs by Charlotte Rothgeb
One
day, my sister’s destiny came. She sat
on the first chair. She then flew
away. Melanie Carson was first, then
Charlie, then Marie, Banie, Jordon, Max, and then me. Charlotte, me, was the last one to leave on
the seventh chair.
The
first flew to Brazil, and the second flew to Greece. The third ended up in Hawaii, and the fourth
was sent to Turkey. The fifth one ended
up in France. The sixth one ended up in
Egypt.
It
was the time I flew off like all of my siblings, but I had to take the seventh
chair. I thought I was going to a place
on earth like all of my other siblings, but instead I was getting sent to a
place where I was never meant to be, the earth’s core.
It
was obvious that my parents didn’t want a seventh child, so they sent me to my
doom.
I
was getting more research done than any scientist has ever discovered in their
whole entire lives, but my chair, the seventh chair, broke. When it broke I was hurling down and down,
and I got sent down into the un-known.
When
I woke up from the fall I ended up in a dungeon, where I found lots of big eggs
in cages.
“Hello my friend!” a big furry creature said.
“What, but where am I?” I asked.
“Oh, umm… Oh ya!
You’re at the dragon den, at the center of the earth!” he said. “And by the way, I’m Cranbut! It’s time for you to choose your special
dragon.”
“Cranbut, did you just say DRAGON?” I asked yelling
at the same time.
“Yes I did.” Cranbut said.
“So look around, but don’t go through that
door. It leads to danger unlike any
other.” Cranbut said.
I
looked around, but when Cranbut wasn’t looking I went straight in the
door. When I did I ran right into a
momma dragon!
Cranbut
ran in and yelled, “RUN!!!” So I ran,
but the mom didn’t chase after me.
Instead she chased Cranbut out of the room. After she did that she scooted one of her
eggs towards me, and then she gave me the puppy eyes.
I
took it out of the room when Cranbut had the widest eyes I’ve ever seen.
“YOU
GOT ONE OF HER EGGS!!!” Cranbut yelled
with his eyes almost bugging out of his skull.
“Ya, and what’s so great about it?” I asked not knowing why he was getting so
worked up over it.
“Those are the rarest and most ferocious dragons in
the under-world, THE RAPETO DRAGON!!!”
Screamed Cranbut almost loosing breath, “And that can only mean one
thing, you are the chosen one to raise one of these dragons and unleash them to
the world. Now, can I get your name?”
“It’s Charlotte D. Carson.” I said.
“Okay, but now your name is something else. Now let me think… Oh now I’ve got it! It will be Charlotte the Masked Dragon
Warrior!” Cranbut said.
“Okay,” I said not really knowing what I had to do.
“Now, you must train your dragon and give it a
name. Then you must take the dragons so
that they fly up to the surface. Then
you must take over an Island big enough to hold all of the dragons and masters,
and you shouldn’t forget me! Then we
will come up with a plan to do stuff that I don’t know yet, but all of that you
decide.” Cranbut explained.
“Okay, but I think I’ve already come up with a name,
Swipkint.” I said.
“Not a typical name, but it would work. Until the dragon likes the name it’s not
permanent,” Cranbut explained.
“Yes, I know,” I said a little disappointed.
It
wasn’t too long after that when the egg hatched.
It
started to glow golden and then it shot straight up and hit the ceiling. Then the egg hit the floor and I saw a little
dragon with big eyes pop out of the egg.
“Swipkint,” I said to my new pet dragon.
It
then looked at me and smiled when I called out its new name.
“Good news, she likes her name and she’s, well, a
girl,” Cranbut said.
Swipkint
was starting to learn each and every day.
She was even learning how to talk.
When
she was big and strong, she knew her duty and destiny to the world and took it
very seriously.
With
her natural big eyes, she’d always talk to me as if we were sisters. Just she was a lot bigger, and she has wings.
Our
birthdays are on the same day, but on my 13th birthday and on
Swipkint’s 6th birthday it was time to unleash the dragons.
Our
destinies have just begun
To be continued
Great begining. I really liked the font for "To be continued."
